“We are extremely impressed with Staff Sergeant Abraham’s professionalism, work ethic and team work,” said Affinito.  “We are honored to receive these awards.”

“From day one with Security 101, they have supported my military career,” said Abraham.  “I needed time away for training two weeks after I started with Security 101 and it was met without issue.”

The Patriot Award recognizes individual supervisors and bosses nominated by an employee serving in the National Guard or Reserve for support provided directly to the nominating Service Member.  The Patriot Award reflects the efforts made to support Citizen Warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families and granting leaves of absence of needed. Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve was established in 1972 to develop and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service. ESGR advocates relevant initiatives, recognizes outstanding support, increases awareness of applicable laws, and resolves conflict between service members and employers.

"We are proud to recognize the countless employers who not only support their employees serving in the nation's Guard and Reserve, but who readily acknowledge the extraordinary value they bring as employees to their workplace,” said North Carolina ESGR Committee Chair Ron Bogle.  “Hiring Guard and Reserve members as an employee is not only the patriotic thing to do, it's the business-smart thing to do."
