Unification Under the Digital Umbrella—August 2nd
Join Security 101 — Detroit as they host an interactive educational seminar and great lunch in downtown Detroit with security experts from Genetec, Axis Communications, Inc., Shooter Detection Systems, Briefcam and more as they discuss how to leverage and consolidate your security system components to improve situational awareness.
Situational awareness refers to real-time information about what’s happening in and around a given facility, campus, or enterprise. This knowledge is made possible by “Unifying” disparate security, alarm and communication systems for centralized monitoring, alerting and reporting. Situational awareness is the key to successful emergency communications and response management for any organization.
Experts will also discuss Project Green Light Detroit, a public-private-community partnership that combines real-time crime-fighting and community policing aimed at improving neighborhood safety, promoting the revitalization and growth of local businesses, and strengthening the Detroit Police Department's efforts to deter, identify, and solve crime. The initial eight Project Green Light Detroit partners are gas stations which have all installed, and will maintain, a number of high-definition (1080p) indoor and outdoor cameras. The stations also all upgraded to high-speed network connections capable of allowing for consistent video streaming to the Detroit Police Department. Moreover, the stations also have agreed to provide adequate lighting on all parts of their properties — and to making other improvements as needed to ensure that their stations are customer-friendly, safe, and inviting.
