Nonprofit winners are selected by the public through an online voting poll. This year nearly 70,000 votes were cast collectively to determine 15 nonprofit award winners at different office locations throughout the country.
The Gift of Security started at the Salt Lake City office with a local owner who had the passion to give back. Since inception, the Gift of Security has provided integrated security solutions to nearly 30 organizations. Not only does the award help the nonprofit winner in each city, it helps make the communities a safer place.
The most challenging part of the growing initiative is getting organizations to understand the legitimacy of the giving program and to nominate themselves.
Local offices are privately owned and under no obligation to participate in the Gift of Security. In fact, employees at participating local offices often donate their time during the work week to execute the program and donate time on the weekend for installations.

The Gift of Security donates $10,000 worth of integrated security services from locally owned offices, and equipment from program product partner, Axis Communications, to one deserving nonprofit at each participating location. All integrated security solutions provided are completely free for the nonprofit winner. *Award presentations will take place in January 2018.
Axis Communications has joined our charitable efforts for the second year. Axis is a leading manufacturer and invented the world’s first network camera back in 1996. They have been innovators in video surveillance ever since, increasing the security of millions of people worldwide and helping to meet the growing need for a smarter, safer world.
“We wholeheartedly believe in giving back to the communities we do business in, and several of the winners were subject to recent security incidents,” said Steve Crespo, Security 101’s chief executive officer. “Applying our expertise to help nonprofit organizations that otherwise might not be able to afford protection is why we are all so passionate. Our goal is to have all 37 office locations participating in the program.”
