Since the 9/11 attacks, many aircraft repair centers have boosted security measures. The StandardAero facility at Augusta's Regional Airport in Georgia added a "virtual escort" program to their security network.
The system uses RFID - Radio Frequency Identification Technology to track visitors' movements in highly secured areas. It eliminates the need to physically escort numerous facility owners and operators who monitor maintenance being done on their aircraft.
StandardAero chose Security 101 as their systems integrator to design this remote escorting service. Security 101 installed a trio of Honeywell cameras, including an IP video surveillance system, MAXPRO VMS, and card access equipment.
Customers are becoming well-adjusted to the new system and feel more secure than with the previous escort system. Security 101's Chris Wise and Rob Nix of Atlanta were honored for their part with the StandardAero project, which won the Bronze Award in STE Magazine's 2011 Innovation Awards.
Way to go Security 101 Atlanta!
