If you are headed to this year's Superbowl in Indianapolis to watch the Giants vs. the Patriots, be prepared for pat-downs and metal detectors. Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano, and NFL officials warn about the heightened security measures that will take place for the big game.
Superbowl XLVI is expected to draw around 67,000 fans, all of whom have been instructed to leave camcorders, umbrellas, strollers, coolers, bottles, noisemakers, beach balls, and other things behind.
Around 8,000 workers and volunteers have already undergone security training for the event, and 3,000 private security workers have been hired in conjunction with police officers and firefighters that will be present and working overtime on game day.
