Despite recent economic turbulence, reports show that the demand for CCTV and video surveillance will remain strong through 2012. So strong, in fact, that network video surveillance equipment sales is forecast to exceed 25%.
Studies have shown that over the past few years during the economic downturn, the network video surveillance market continued to grow rapidly. Why such strong growth in this market? Especially during tough times when everything else was suffering? The answer is not a simple one, but two very relevant points can be made. Secondly, the economic downturn hit all countries worldwide, but not all equally. As a result, the technology transition from low-value analog video surveillance equipment to a higher-value network continued during the tough times and boosted total video surveillance sales.
