Security 101 – Detroit is recruiting for an installation technician with the ability to support cabling & device installation effectively on new and existing commercial electronic security installations. Salary:

Hourly wage is from $18.00 to $26.00 per hour, non-exempt, commensurate with skills, experience, and product knowledge.

Skills/Abilities:

The Right Candidate:

  • At least two (2) years electrical and electronic security equipment installation and repair experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to ensure daily tasks are completed on assigned projects with minimal supervision.
  • Must have experience in PTZ and IP camera installation, programming and addressing.
  • Must possess a valid driving license and clean MVR.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.

Current certification or proficiency in one of the following is a plus:

  • Access Control: Pro-Watch, Genetec, Software House, Lenel/S2, OpenPath, Avigilon
  • Video: Axis, Exacq, Milestone, Genetec, Victor, Avigilon, Hanwha.
  • Intrusion: DMP, DSC, Honeywell, Elk

Responsibilities:

Successfully demonstrate installation, termination and perform maintenance on the following hardware from manufacturers like, Adams Rite, Von Duprin, HID, Assa Abloy, etc.

  • Mag Locks
  • Electronic Door Strikes
  • Card Readers and Keypad’s
  • Electric Crash Bars
  • EREX (Emergency Request to Exit Buttons)
  • REX (Request to Exit) PIR
  • Motion Sensors

Education:

  • High School (or GED) minimum requirement
  • Electronics training from a Technical School or Military training in electronics or communications (preferred)
