Security 101 – Jacksonville is now recruiting for a Commercial Security Lead Service Technician that has experience servicing and maintaining intrusion detection systems and equipment, access control systems, video surveillance equipment, and related devices, sensors, electric locks, and other applicable force protection equipment.

Salary:

Hourly wage varies from $25.00 to $35.00, non-exempt, commensurate with skills, product knowledge and experience.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience servicing and programming commercial access control, IP-based video surveillance systems and intrusion detection systems.
  • General knowledge of electronic security installation, NEC, NFPA Life Safety Code issues.
  • Must be able to independently troubleshoot access control and video system with little or no supervision.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with the internet and networking is essential.
  • Must possess a valid driving license and clean MVR.
  • Certification or proficiency in one or more of the following is a plus: Honeywell Prowatch, Genetec, C-Cure 9000, Lenel, and Facility Commander.
  • Security 101 will invest in training for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Servicing, troubleshooting, programming, and testing enterprise security systems with minimal supervision.
  • System knowledge of access control, IP video surveillance, intrusion detection, and visitor management, preferred.
  • Perform a combination of installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, troubleshooting equipment and systems.
  • Apply practical knowledge of electronic principles and electronic security codes and standards to isolate malfunctions using diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on the security equipment identified by the task order, and return faulty equipment to operating condition.
  • Responsible for installation, documenting maintenance actions, and updating drawings, time distribution.

Education:

  • High School (or GED) minimum requirement
  • Electronics training from a Technical School or Military training in electronics or communications (preferred).
  • Formal electronics training, to include: Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors.
