The federal government is prepping for the anniversary of 9/11 by conducting briefings with local and state law enforcement organizations on potential threats and ways to increase security measures. Officials state there is no specific indication that a terror plot is underway in the U.S.
Americans can expect more security at airports, U.S. borders, mass transit stations, and major athletic events over the next month.
This is a very significant date in history and security precautions are a must considering knowing what this date means in our history, said Sean Duggan, assistant chief at the Scottsdale, AZ. Police Dept.
Numerous events are planned around the country to commemorate the nearly 3,000 people that lost their lives in the 2001 attack.
